"Dè CREATIF CIRCLE"
yet another step of "The SAEL Movement", to promote Art & Design
students and amateur designers, arranged a dress competition here
on Saturday September 11 2004 at "STEP Institute of Professional
Development".
The club "Dè CREATIF CIRCLE" is a group of
professionals and amateur artists to promote, develop & create
awareness about traditional and cotemporary artwork among the society
at National & International level.
Disco 70's Dress Competition is the first event
arranged by the club primarily aimed to promote all those who possess
creative and innovative competencies but have not been in the spotlight
of acknowledgement. The three winners were awarded with prize money
of Rs. 6000 and the exhibitors were awarded certificates of participation.
The first prize was won by Kashif, second by Uzma & Lubna and
the third by Ayesha. The consolation prize was awarded to Hanook.
Delegates from the renowned organisations of Lahore
and professionals encouraged young practitioners by their
presence in the show. About seven hundred people visited the exhibition
and celebrities including Mr. Khawar Riaz, Mr. Karsten Sadiq (BAL
Textiles), Ms. Neha (Fashion Model), Mr. Ahmed (Fashion Model),
Mr. R.M. Naeem (Artist), Deeves (Fashion Photographers) and representatives
from the textile industry (Klass Textile), Chamber of Commerce and
The British Council.
The faculty of Art & Design organised the event
under "Dè CREATIF CIRCLE" . The whole venue was
fantastically decorated by the students of STEP Faculty of Art & Design according to the theme of Disco 70's. The Black dress code
was followed by almost every one and face masks were distributed
among the visitors. The circle is formed with the core objective
of spreading awareness about creativity, art and innovation among four
different categories including youngsters, students, professional
and artistic minded families.
STEP Faculty of Art & Design in collaboration
with "Dè CREATIF CIRCLE" promises to organise such
memorable events in future as well. The various academic qualifications
being offered at STEP Faculty of Art & Design include internationally
recognised British Qualifications with specialisation available in fields of Fashion,
Textiles, Footwear, Interior, Furniture and Jewlery Design. The
Coordinator Art & Design Ms. Mohni Saif & The Corporate
Coordinator of STEP Mr. M G Iftikhar expressed their heartiest congratulations
to all the participants of the exhibition and gracious thankfulness
to all those who helped in arrangement of the event.
The exhibition was open to public from 5: 30 p.m.
till 11:00 p.m.
