De Creatif Circle of the SAEL Movement arranged yet another event to promote traditional and contemporary Art & Design among the society on November 8 – 9 2004 . This exhibition is to be followed by the series of exhibitions, displays and competitions, planned for the year 2004 – 2005, both at national and international level.
Exhibition was held in the premises of STEP Institute of Professional Development. Exhibitors belonging to urban and rural Punjab , Sindh, Kashmir , NWFP and Baluchistan arranged their stalls as per the scheduled theme on Fashion, Textiles, Footwear, Furniture, Interior, Jewellery and Handy crafts.
Mian Misbah-ur-Rehman (President Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industries) and Mr. Iftikhar Pirzada (President The SAEL Movement) inaugurated the first day of the display. While commenting on “The Inter Design Fair”, Mr. Rehman appreciated the efforts of exhibitors and said that he is impressed by the efforts STEP and SAEL Movement are making to promote art and culture.
Ms. Shaista Malik (prominent women entrepreneur) encouraged exhibitors and exclaimed that this generation is lucky to have exposure and opportunities to excel their abilities and talents. She added that she is content to see that today's generation is well equipped to take up future endeavors with a confidence to succeed.
Ms. Nirma (Television / Film artist) paid special visit and encouraged STEP's Art & Design student for the wonderful décor and management of the event. Ms. Lubna Tariq (Provincial Parliamentary Secretary for Tourism) and Mr. Shahab Khawaja (CEO Small & Medium Enterprise Development Authority, SMEDA) inaugurated the second day of the exhibition. Mr. Khawaja acknowledged the work of the exhibitors and encouraged them to participate in events SMEDA has planed to promote small and medium enterprises for the year 2005.
Special visits of the day were paid by Mr. Irfan Ali (Managing Director TDCP) and various famous film artists including; Mr. Afzal Khan RAMBO, Mr. Saud and Mr. Arbaz Khan. They visited all the stalls and enjoyed the amusement stalls… dedicated songs and got their fortune checked by an e-fortune teller.
The fabulous two days exhibition was closed by Mr. Akhtar Rasool (Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab). Mr. Rasool ensured the participants and the SAEL Movement for all the support by the Government to promote and facilitate well being of Art & Design. He assured SAEL for maximum help in arranging it's up coming events to be held overseas in connection with Art & Cultural promotion.
