STEP Institute of Professional Development celebrated "August" as Pakistan 's Independence Month. Whole of the August students, staff and volunteers worked hard to put together a show which included various performances; mime, national songs competition and a play.
Mr. Akhtar Rasool (Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab ), Mr. Iftikhar Pirzada (President of the SAEL Movement) along with other celebrities were present on the day to encourage and praise the hard work.
The show was staged on August 26 2004 . It stared with talawat followed by a mime performance "Creation of Pakistan- the History" staged by the students of Faculty of Art & Design.
After the jubilant performance of mime, students of "English for Kids Programme" performed the song "Peace and Harmony" and later gave out their messages to the audience on "how to build peaceful and safer world for future generations".
National Song competition was next, students from all departments actively participated in the competition. Yasir Chaudhary (IELTS student, Faculty of Modern Languages), Husnain (IELTS student, Faculty of Modern Languages) and Mehwish Amanullah (Faculty of Art & Design) secured first, second and third position respectively.
Last but not least was the play "Isthakam - e - Pakistan ", staged to strengthen the harmony among the four provinces of Pakistan . Student's performance was remarkably professional which won them rounds of applause by the audience.
All the participants were awarded by the participation certificates. The show was ended with the light musical evening & a hope for a better future
