Pre Foundation in Art & Design

To provide the broad based education from which students can progress into further and higher education qualifications (including the degree level British qualifications).

The contents include:

• Basic Techniques in Drawing & Designing
• Design Creation & Development
•.Projects in specialised areas (Fashion / Textiles, Furniture, Jewellery, ...Product, Interior and Footwear design)

Duration: 2 Months

Foundation Studies in Art & Design:

To prepare students for progression to variety of options in Art & Design studies at higher level of British education.

Specialisations are available in:
• Fashion/Textiles
• Jewellery
• Footwear
• Furniture
• Interior

The contents include:

Stage 1: Basic skills within practice of Art & Design, including work in 2D and 3D (with range of basic material, media and methods)

Stage 2: Programme of specialised studio activities (including Fine Arts, Graphic design, 2D & 3D multidisciplinary design, Product, Interior, Furniture, Fashion, Textiles, Surface decoration, Footwear and Jewelry design)

Stage 3: Work on major personal projects leading to learner’s individual exhibition at end of academic year (with range of specialisations given above)

Duration: One year

Exploratory Stage:
Information & Research, Recording & Responding, Media Experimentation.

Pathway Stage:
Information & Interpretation, Combined Experimental Studies, Media Development, Preparation & Progression.

Confirmatory Stage:
Integrating Theory & Practice, Personal Confirmatory Study.

To promote and mutually support fellow members and the local art community in general, whether at work, in exhibition, or in competition.
To advance the public perception about traditional artwork and artists through exhibitions, events and positive interaction with local media.
To share knowledge and education on 'traditional & non-traditional art in society.
To arrange and facilitate events, activities and services to benefit all levels of membership.
To increase the local and international market awareness for traditional artwork.
To financially support "The SAEL Movement" through various fundraising activities and events.
